Are you a “Super Hero business owner”?

Why Your Indispensability Is Destroying Your Profit Potential  Do you have a fear of outsourcing? It’s not an odd question. You see if you want your business to be super successful, at some point you have to stop trying to do everything yourself. In the early days lots of business owners take the strain. You may be one of them. You make yourself indispensable, allocate all the jobs to you and feel fearful of the costs of offloading some of your non-core work to someone else. You may even feel obliged to be always available to answer your phone – after all you never know who might be on the other end of the line. But there’s a BIG payoff – and one you may not even be fully aware of.

Double Award for local Entrepreneur

One local entrepreneur knows just what it takes to buck the trend and grow their business.Graham Hill, of Verbatim, the telephone call answering service, based out of Newbury has grown his business month on month over the last 18 months and is now garnering the awards to prove it.Graham is the first Oxfordshire member of the Entrepreneurs’ Circle to be awarded “Entrepreneur of the Month” twice in less than a year for making stuff happen in his business and implementing things that have improved both his service to his clients and the marketing of his business. As a result his revenues and profitability are growing and his business is starting to fly.

Who will answer your telephone when you go roaming this summer?

Who Will Answer Your Phone When You’re On Holiday This Year? After months of wondering if the summer is ever going to arrive, it’s now here with a vengeance! In fact, the weathermen are saying this is the longest spell of warm weather the UK has had for the last six years. It’s great news for summer holidaying, but perhaps bad news for small business owners who can find it hard to switch off and take a break – especially if you still need to be available to answer your phone.

What can small businesses learn from London 2012?

I don’t know about you but I have been blown away by London 2012 - not just the performances of our athletes but by the whole event. It makes me proud to be British.[caption id="attachment_4128" align="alignleft" width="168"] Meet Sarah[/caption]You just have to tune into R5 and the BBC television coverage and witness the crowds inside and outside the stadia up and down the country to feel the buzz.  So what can we learn? And it’s not all about the athletes.Sarah, our Financial Controller at Verbatim, the phone answering service had a wonderful day watch the rowing at Eton Dorney last week. She was struck by everyone involved from the games ambassadors, the shuttle bus drivers to the meticulous organisation of the event.“Everyone was smiling, friendly and polite and couldn't have been more helpful. The attitude and friendliness was so unexpected, but wow did it make a difference to our overall experience. The rowing wasn’t bad either!"
