Telephone answering - call forward on ISDN2


If you have ISDN2 and you want to use our live telephone answering service you need to get your provider to enable Call Forwarding. We use BT in this example; if you have another provider, please check with them for their process as it may be different, although the principle is the same.

You can activate Call Forward yourself if you have suitable equipment – check with your provider.

You can forward:

all calls

  • This is useful when your office is unmanned for any reason or you do not want to be disturbed – you are a meeting or you want private time to concentrate on a particular matter.

calls when your lines are busy

  • This is useful when you are in the office and want to handle most calls yourself.

calls when there is no reply

  • This is useful when you are around the office but might be a distance from the telephone. It gives you time to answer the call.

calls when there is no reply or your lines are busy

  • Most of our clients choose this as it covers all eventualities, be it overflow, the phones are ringing but cannot be answered as people are otherwise engaged.
  • It is also a great way of ensuring business continutiy in the event of, for example, bad weather prevents people getiing to the office or, for one reason or another, your offices have to be vacated - disaster recovery.

BT call forwarding product codes.

If you have suitable equipment and want to activate call forwarding yourself as and when you want, BT’s product code is A52962.

If your equipment does not allow you to activate call forward yourself, their product codes are:

Forward all calls – BT code A38287  
Forward calls when your line is busy – BT code A38289
Forward calls if there is no reply – BT code A38288
Forward calls when your line is busy or there is no reply - BT codes 38289 and 38288.
